Pakistan Railways (PR) has launched construction of 180 flats at a cost of RS 640 million for its employees in Lahore, Karachi and Narowal to provide them best residential facilities. The project is being undertaken by the Railcop, a sister organisation of the Pakistan Railways in collaboration with a private company.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pakistan Railways Muhammad Javed Anwar has directed the company concerned, which won this project in open auction, to complete the construction by June next year. In Lahore these flats are being constructed in Garhi Shahu, Yard Area in Narowal and I. I. Chundrigar Road in Karachi. In Narowal 12 flats of Class-III and 24 of class IV, 48 flats each of class-III and IV in Lahore while 16 flats of class-III and 32 flats of class-IV will be constructed in Karachi, said a spokesman of the Railways.
